As a music education major at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, Dan helped pay his way through college as a woodwind and brass repair technician. With 31 years of experience to his credit, he operates Conifer Music Repair, servicing, buying and selling band instruments. He is an Ebay Powerseller and sells his band instruments worldwide.

An endorsed U. S. Service Representative of both White Chapel Bell Foundry and John Taylor Bellfounders, Dan specializes in repair and refurbishment of English handbells. He also restores Schulmerich bells and he is one of few technicians that will still work on the Petit Fritsen handbells.
